The Sun is F-sharp !

There are certain frequencies we are quite certain about in this web-site: Basically, the three I detected, and the frequency of Earth’s revolution, once every 24-hours – which they are based on.

So, is there any other cosmic reference tone we might look into? Well, it seems the Sun resonates as an F-sharp.

NASA’s Sun Sonification

Their recording used to be on SoundCloud – but as of this writing, it’s been taken down. However, I took a recording of the original, and then explored it sonically, which you can hear, here:

Initially, I did an analysis on this and determined that it was very close to the Earth frequency of D 72 or 144 Hz. And you can hear my experimentation with this in the track – where I changed the original by octaves and tried different frequencies to match it.

And here is a spectrum analyzer view of the original NASA track. It hovers between 143 and 145 Hz.

The way NASA describes their conversion to sound is provided here on the Stanford University website, and includes the following:

“Then Kosovichev filtered the data at about 3 mHz to select clean sound waves (and not supergranulation and instrumental noise). Finally, he interpolated over the missing data and scaled the data (speeded it up a factor 42,000 to bring it into the audible human-hearing range (kHz))”

There is an issue with 42,000: it’s not a multiple of 2 – so it doesn’t just bring the frequency down in “octaves” until we can hear it, it actually changes the note.
So, how do we restore the frequency to the Sun’s original frequency, many octaves down but without changing the note?
The nearest multiple of 2 is 32,768. So, we can:

1. Detect the published frequency, using a tuner or spectrum analyzer: 72 or 144 Hz
2. Multiply this by 42,000 to restore it to the original frequency above human hearing:
72 Hz x 42,000 = 3,024,000 Hz , or 3.024 mHz
3. Now divide this original frequency by a proper multiple of 2 so humans can hear it: 3,024,000 Hz / 32,768 = 92.28515625 Hz

And is there a nearby Earth Frequency to 92.28515625 Hz? Yes, it’s an octave of 369.140625 Hz, very close to 368.64 Hz – shown in the left column below – the frequency we call F-sharp in the “Spirit” row of our Earth-Spin harmonic-series grid.

(It’s interesting that the frequency of the recording NASA originally released, as a D of 72/144/288 Hz, is actually in this same row, but because of the faulty conversion by a non-multiple of 2, they brought it to a note 2 major-third intervals higher than the original. So, here is the “corrected” NASA sun “sonification”, playing as 92.28515625 Hz, instead of 72 Hz:

Perhaps this is what the Sun actually “sounds” like! – a high octave of F#, above human hearing:

So, I take this NASA data with a grain of salt, but assuming they have correctly described the algorithm they used, then it’s not a D (as I originally, mistakenly thought) but an F# – belonging somehow to the same grid of frequencies that emanate from the Earth’s spin, resonating in the Earth’s electromagnetic field.

This would further support the notion that all of the Universe is fractal and following the same laws of harmonic spin and resonance: the Sun’s recorded frequency is part of this same “Earth” harmonic series.

    1. I think all of these Earth frequencies are regenerative in one way or another. E-flat seems to be biological, A-flat seems to be more structural, B-flat seems to promote spiritual connection, and F seems to rejuvenate the Heart. However, these are our subjective experiences, echoed by many who have immersed themselves in these frequencies. But in the end, the best way to find out, is to try them. Another “best” way is for us to explore their use in electroculture.
